This lot in Uxbridge had a lot of potential just sitting there - stumps, rocks, uneven ground, and no usable space. What the homeowner wanted was simple: more yard. What it took to get there was a full site work operation from the ground up.

We started with land clearing - pulling stumps and hauling rocks out of the way. New England properties are notorious for having rock just below the surface, and this one was no different. Getting all of that out cleanly is the difference between a yard that functions and one that's just a headache waiting to happen.

Once the clearing was done, we brought in over 200 yards of fill and loam to build the grade up properly. That's a significant amount of material, and it had to go in right - not just dumped and spread, but worked in so the finished surface ties in naturally with the existing yard. We also built a natural stone wall to define the edge of the new space. The rocks we pulled from the lot didn't just disappear - they got put to work.

The grading is finished and the whole area is prepped and ready for hydro seed. That's the thing about site work done right - each phase sets up the next one. Nothing worse than trying to seed or sod a yard that wasn't graded with drainage and long-term use in mind.

If you've got a section of your property that's just trees, stumps, and wasted space, this kind of work is exactly how you fix that. Clearing, grading, and a little fill can open up a yard in ways most homeowners don't realize are possible until they see it done.
